MCK Metals Pacific commenced manufacturing in New Plymouth, New Zealand
in 1953 as McKechnie Brothers and the McKechnie ownership continued
until 1998, when Australian owned MCK Group acquired the Company. MCK
Metals remained part of the MCK Group until 26 April 2004 at which
time the Company was acquired by a consortium which included senior
managers of MCK Metals Pacific. The acquisition included all
divisions of the MCK Metals Pacific business ie. Remelt, Extrusion,
Fabrication, Anodising, Powdercoating and the Alco Ladder business.
While a large portion of our production is sold in Australia and New
Zealand, many other products are supplied to markets all around the
globe, including the Pacific Islands, USA and Europe.
Our Quality Systems are certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and our
attention to clients requirements has allowed us to build a strong
record of client retention in all the areas we service. The extrusion
and drawing processes are supported by in-house casting and tooling
operations thus allowing the highest level of control over the total
production process.
The added value Fabrication Business Unit is increasingly involved
in the provision of finished componentry for our customers made from
extrusions produced in our factory. This service is showing major
growth potential as many customers have changed to out sourcing of
parts as it is cost effective and efficient. This can also be said
of our surface finishing plants which provide a vast array of powdercoated
and anodised colours and finishes.
A professional marketing structure is supported by technical and manufacturing
expertise which combined with our emphasis on client service make
MCK Metals very easy to do business with.
Our products are vital to a wide range of industry sectors in particular
the Building Industry for both Residential and Commercial. Transportation,
Distribution and the Hardware industry are significant
usage sectors.
MCK Metals Pacific employs over 250 employees and has branches and/or
sales representation in the following locations: New South Wales,
Victoria, Queensland, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. An integrated
computer system gives ready access to stock and manufacturing information
from all locations.
